How to Care for a Knee or Elbow Scab


Most of the time, it is the knees and elbows that we forget to take care of. The fact is that the way our knees and elbows are positioned, it is very easy to forget about them and we are not aware that they exist, unless someone talks about them.As these are the soft parts of the body, special care should be taken of them. If you dont take proper care of them, they tend to become dark and patchy, and a rough layer of skin covers them. It looks ghastly when you dress up for a party and your knees and elbows have dark patches on them. There are several ways in which you can beautify your elbows and knees




Causes Of Dark And Rough Knees And Elbows:

1. Constant exposure to the sun with no protective coverings and sunscreen protection.

2. Some type of medication taken that leads to side effects causing the blackening of the knees and elbows.

3. Certain diseases like Addison's Syndrome (a glandular disorder caused by failure of function of the cortex of the adrenal gland and marked by anemia and prostration with brownish skin).

4. Constantly kneeling or leaning your elbows without protection clothing.

5. Not taking good care of them



How To Take Care Of The Elbows And Knees:




1).Washing knees and elbow regularly to prevent dirt and grime from depositing on the areas.



2).Apply coconut oil on your elbows and knees to remove the dryness.



3).Use of pumice stone is a good cure.



4).Knees and elbows should be cleaned daily with mild stone. Apply moisturiser after taking bath.



5).Apply a mixture of lime and juice on elbows and knee.



6).Rub cucumber on your elbows and knees. Lemon juice cam also be used.



7).Rub olive oil on elbows and knees.



8).Take a lemon and cut it into two pieces. Keep both the pieces below each elbow. This will bleach the dark elbows.



9).Make a paste of besan flour and lime juice and apply on elbows and knees. Keep it there for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off.



10).Moisturize your skin regularly. Massage the cream onto knees and elbows in circular motion. Look for ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil to hydrate your dry skin or alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs) to lighten the dark spots.



Olive oil is a good alternative to body cream. Massage on knees and elbows before you go to bed.



11). Rub a slice of freshly cut lemon onto the affected area of the elbows and knees. Leave the lemon juice on for 10-15 minutes. Then Rub a warm damp towel on the treated area to remove loosened dead skin cells and dirt. Do it three or four times a week. Lemon juice has bleaching properties that can fade the dark discoloration.
