Itching Skin: Itchy skin can be caused by many things and it is really difficult to know what the cause might be and itchy skin is very unpleasant for your puppy and sometimes they scratch so much they start irritating the skin and start bleeding. In some severe cases, the itching will result in a dog with hot spots. Hot spots are hard-to-heal patches of skin infection commonly caused by bacteria that’s introduced when a dog suffers minor abrasions or scrapes from scratching or biting at the skin. Dry skin can cause a dog to have itchy. If they will have dry skin, they will scratch the skin and the skin becomes cracked and bleeds. Give your dog, a conditioning Treatment.

The dog’s skin problems are generally due to one of three reasons:

1. Allergies: Allergies can take several forms, but the most common forms associated with itchy skin are contact dermatitis and food allergies.

2. Fungal infections: Fungal infections, such as yeast infections, are another cause for dry, itchy, scaly skin in dogs. Ringworm is another example of a fungal infection that can affect the skin.

3. Bacterial infections: Parasites are among the most common cause for dry, itchy, flaky skin in dogs. Fleas are the most common and visible skin parasite.

Here are the Solutions for your dog’s itching problem.

1. When your dog’s feet are itching, add Epsom salts to cool water. Then Dip his or her feet into the water for five- ten minutes. Do not let your pet drink the water for some minutes.

2. Calendula extract, available at most health food stores, is a topical liquid that has soothing and antibacterial qualities. Apply a few drops of it to the affected area with the soft brush.

3. Don’t offer your dog the food that contain food coloring. Avoid junk food snacks.

4. A mixture of oatmeal and water can be rubbed on to the dog's skin to help relieve dryness and soothe itchiness.

5. Vitamin E has strong moisturizing properties and is helpful for dogs with itching, flaky, dry skin. It is also available in the form of capsules, which can be broken open and applied directly to the skin.

6. Fish oil is extremely soothing for dogs with itchy skin as it hydrates skin. It is available in capsules from and in liquid form too. Apply this Fish Oil to the affected area with the soft brush.

7. Antihistamines can sometimes be effective with short-term itches.

8. If the infection or itching is very major and these given remedies does not prove helpful, then you must take your dog to the Vet Doctor for his advice.
