How to Get Rid of Pimples

Everyone hates pimples. They are infections in the skin and occur when pores become clogged by dead skin cells or hair follicles. Hair follicle produces the oil sebum that sometimes builds up in a clogged pore resulting in an infection. If the follicle bursts, the contents of the pore leak onto other parts of the skin and spreads the infection, thus, creating new pimples.

People who suffer from acne would give anything to obtain the secret of how to get rid of pimples.

Here are some steps you can take to get rid of pimples Hold an ice pack on the pimple for two minutes. Repeat every 30 minutes. This will shrink the swelling and ease any pain associated with the pimple.

Wash the skin twice daily using a mild soap or special acne cleanser. Keep the skin clean as dirty skin provides breeding ground for bacteria that will cause pimples to appear.

Apply creams that contain Benzyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid to the pimple. These are pimple-fighting agents but they can also dry out the skin while working to get rid of the pimple. This will cause the skin to produce more oil. To combat this problem, apply moisturizer to the face after using Benzyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid.

Put a dab of toothpaste on the pimple. It is said to dry out the pimple causing it to become smaller and eventually go away. Press and hold a wet tea bag on the pimple for five minutes to reduce swelling and redness.

Another alternative is to use a cotton ball with a dab of lemon juice. Steam the face at least once per week. To do this, hold your face over a pan with hot water. Cover your head with a towel and also over the pan to prevent the steam from escaping. This will open the pores. Apply moisturizer afterwards.

Here are some things you should do to prevent pimples: If you must wear make-up, use only oil-free make-up. This type does not clog pores.

Keep your hands away from your face as much as possible. Try to get rid of stress in your life as this causes pimples to appear on the skin. If there is some issue causing the stress try not to think about it by doing things like listening to music.

Drink plenty of water "" at least eight 8-ounce glasses per day. This will flush toxins from the body. Change pillowcases often because dead skin cells are collected on the pillowcase and will get back on the face if they remain unchanged.

Warnings: Do not squeeze the pimple as this will cause the bacteria to spread and will result in scarring. Use a concealer to cover the pimple. It works by covering up the shine that comes with a pimple.

Be sure to remove make-up at night using a special make-up remover to remove oil and all traces of the make-up.

Best Makeup Tips for Oily Skin

When it comes to skin care, everyone knows it matters much, especially for those who have naturally an oily facial skin. Problems are more compounded in this case as the make up not only is difficult to apply but also it gets displaced with more and more oil secreted by the skin. Here is a simple step by step make up guide for those with oily skin.

Cleansing: Before applying any make up on your skin, cleansing and making it neutral is most important. Use an ‘Exfoliating Cleanser’ which not only cleans your skin but also makes the skin free from dead cells and removes the clogging particles in the acne causing oily skin pores. This cleansing is most suitable for oily skin and is better than skin care soaps.

Remember few tips: Use salicylic acid ingredient in a cleanser for cleansing. Do not over rub your skin. Use sponge instead of your fingers, as skin to skin contact can induce more oil on your facial skin. Do not touch your facial skin with hands at any point.

Toners: one may apply toner using cotton, which is specially meant
for oily skin. The main function of a toner is to clear off oil and make up traces and gives you clearer skin.

Moisturizer: few prefer to skip moisturizing, but it’s required for the make up to hold on to your slippery oily skin and hide wrinkles if any. Make sure you use a water based moisturizer instead of an oil based one.

Foundation: The best methods include Matte Mineral Foundation or
the Liquid based foundation. Foundation is the most essential and significant step in making up. This is the one which is in direct contact with your skin and the make up on top of it. Mineral foundation consists of anti oxidants and vitamins necessary for the skin and are resistant to water and smudging. It also help in keeping your skin more youthful and cater to most Skin Care needs.

Liquid foundation on the other hand, contains aloe vera to supply nutrients to the skin and soften the irritated pores. Do not use foundations with petroleum based oil content, alcohol and cheaper powder based foundation. Also remember to apply lighter colored foundation as the foundation tends to mix with the oil secreted and make the skin look darker after some time.
• Finally, after the application of foundation, leave your skin for ten minutes without disturbing for it to get set properly. Then you may apply a faint tone of setting powder clearly and uniformly distributed through out the face. Always use pressed powder with matte finish. It’s always advisable for those with oily skin, to apply as little make up as possible, which only covers up the non uniform portions and gives a uniform smooth and slender look.

Apart from the above make up tips, remember to drink plenty of water. Consume good amount of natural fruits and vegetables, as most requirements for skin care are taken care of by them. Use good, branded skin care soaps, keep washing your skin at least twice or thrice a day and never touch your face unnecessarily with your bare hands.

Oily Skin Tips and Remedy

The best oily skin tip is to prevent oily skin in the first place by preventing the oil from being released onto the skin. There are acne medications – like Accutane (isotretinoin) that can do this but these drugs are toxic to the body and should not be taken long term.

Skin tips include:

Avoid Excessive Sun – We all know that too much sun causes wrinkles, skin aging, and increase chances of skin cancer. However, whether it’s outside UV rays or from a tanning bed – too much UV exposure also causes enlarged pores and broken capillaries.

Hot Water - You should never wash your face with hot tap water. The combination of how water and the chlorine found in tap water can damage the skin. The hotter the water, the higher rate of chemical reactions from the chlorine -- which is an oxidative agent used to kill bacteria. This combination may cause more skin damage than most people realize.

Harsh Cleansers - Many cleansers are really ionic detergents that contain lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate. These are powerful detergents damage and dry the skin. Typical oily skin cleansers and remedies strip natural oils – which only aggravates the skin in the long run.
The best facial cleanser for oily skin should include a fusion of holistic botanicals, certified organic aloe vera, sage, chamomile, and vitamins A & E.

Avoid Harsh Astringents - Using harsh alcohol based astringents. They only make the situation worse in the long run. Consider using an all natural astringent like apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Dip a cotton ball in this mixture and apply on oily skin areas. gently remove excess sebum - which causes bacteria and eventually acne.

Moisturize - Oily skin needs to be moisturized too, but your moisturizer should be oily free.
